Let me clear your mindset first (which must have occurred in your mind by reading the title). I don't hate Mumbai and Mumbaikars, in fact I like Mumbai and Mumbaikars; there are so many things to like. Their mutual understanding when leaving among such a crowd, their maturity, they knows how to behave with people. Mumbaikars are very helpful people, you ask for address, they will tell it with details, even in their rush lifestyle. But all of this only applies when they are in Mumbai. But when they come out of Mumbai, or even talking about other cities, God help you if you are not Mumbaikar.
I was telling one of my Mumbaikar friend (in normal circumstances very mature person, whose opinions are not biased) about my friend in Kolhapur. I didn't tell her much about this friend of mine except that she was from Kolhapur. By this much of information she deduced that my friend must be some Gaon ki Chhori (Village girl). If the girl, who I think one of the the very matured person I've ever met, can be biased about this, then certainly anyone else can.
I do remember, when I was child often Mumbaikars used to come at my village and they used to behave like they are living among some creatures who don't have life at all. People who live in 10 x 10 rooms, shows such attitude that other people live in scum.
@Mumbaikars you are exposed to much different environment than other people. If other people are exposed to same environment then they'll be same confident as you are. It's the personal skills you are having that you must be proud of, not the things which are inherited from your parents and society. And if you are asking for proof then you must be either Mumbaikar or you haven't encountered any Mumbaikar yet ;).
